Copyright & takedown policy
Last updated 11 October 2026
ZELVU Play respects the rights of filmmakers, studios and channels. Free titles are official YouTube uploads played through YouTube's embedded player; we do not host or copy them, and a listing can be removed quickly.
Ask us to remove a listing
Rights holders or their authorised agents can send a notice through the help page (choose “Copyright or takedown”) or by post to the company's registered office. To act quickly we need:
- The ZELVU Play link(s) to the listing and the title concerned.
- Identification of the work and the basis of your rights (owner, exclusive licensee, or agent with authority).
- A statement, made in good faith, that the listing or playback is not authorised by the rights holder, its agent or the law.
- Your name, organisation, address, email and a signature (typed is fine).
We remove or disable the listing within 36 hours of a complete notice, in line with the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021, and confirm by email. If the upload on YouTube itself is the concern, YouTube's own copyright process applies to the video there.
Premium titles
Premium titles are streamed under written licences with their makers. If you believe a premium title infringes your rights, send the notice above; we will suspend the title pending review and contact the licensor.
Repeat concerns and counter-notices
If a listing was removed in error, the affected party may write to us with the reasons; we reinstate listings where the rights position is clear. We keep a record of notices as required by law.
